The
Arkansas Athletic Trainers Association is pleased to
announce our 1st Annual Golf Tournament at the Hurricane
Golf and Country Club in Bryant and Silent Auction at
the Embassy Suites in Little Rock on Friday, April 25th,
2008. The AATA is a 501(3c) nonprofit
organization, and proceeds from this event will support
the AATA's efforts in promoting awareness and addressing
athletic healthcare and coverage at the secondary school
level in Arkansas.
Recently, the General
Session of the Arkansas Legislature of 2007 passed Act
673 which was signed by Governor Beebe with the support
of the AATA to establish a Legislative Task Force on
Athletic Training. The objective of this Task Force is
to study the current state of athletic healthcare at the
secondary school level. The AATA not only would like to
use this event to promote awareness but also to utilize
the financial benefits in educating and supporting the
Legislative Task Force as it undergoes its work during
the interim.
In light of the recent
death of a Little Rock Parkview basketball player on
January 2, 2008, the purpose of this event has become
even more apparent. Respectfully, not knowing all of
the facts associated with the death of this young
athlete, this tragic event only strengthens our
association’s resolve to address the issue of ensuring
that every student-athlete has a certified medical
professional to whom athletic-related injuries are
reported, and each school has an emergency action plan
including AEDs, etc.
The AATA would be honored
if you could join us in the mission to keep
student-athletes in Arkansas healthy and active by
providing sponsorship for our 1st Annual Golf
Tournament and Silent Auction. Please select from any
of the items listed on the
Sponsorship page. Sponsors are
requested to select both a first and second choice item(s) from the list in the event a specific item has
previously been taken. |
